Dr.Ali Faizal an alumnus of Calicut Medical College, after completing his cardiology training from Bangalore, joined as a Consultant at the prestigious Institute of cardiovascular diseases under Madras Medical Mission, at Chennai, and had a long stint there as an Interventional cardiologist along with the doyens of cardiac care in the country. In 2002 he along with his team was instrumental in setting up one of the most successful and large cardiac care programmes in Kerala at Kozhikode. During this period the first successful Primary angioplasty programme for treatment of myocardial infarction was established in the private sector, and the team imparted a comprehensive and cardiac care and cardiac surgery services including heart transplant in the region, which proved a model for the others. The centre was also the few to impart super speciality training in cardiology. He is one of most experienced interventional cardiologist in the state and has been in the field for the last 30 years, and is considered as a pioneer in the field, in the state. Dr. Ali along with the other promoters and directors joined with the leadership to develop the concept and set up Meitra as a centre of excellence in healthcare in the region and was initially responsible for the setting up of the clinical services and team at Meitra. At present he serves as a full time Director of the Board of Meitra Hospital supporting the leadership in implementing the vision and the growth of the centre and as the advisor and Senior consultant in the Department of Cardiology at Meitra Hospital He is married to Ms.Fathima and they have two daughters Dr. Nazneen and Ms. Naeera (M.Arch.) He is passionate about education in the community and in this role serves as the Joint secretary of the Farook College Managing Committee and as the President of Kozhikode girls higher secondary school.
